One of my new poems, “A Bird On Warm Brick” is up on the new issue of Spittoon.

Thanks to the people at Spittoon for putting together such a fine issue.
Make sure you read my friend Farren Stanley’s piece in it as well.

Nice poem!
Okay, so have you seen Devan Goldstein’s “Issues with Issuu” letter to magazine editors? http://www.devangoldstein.com/934/issues-with-issuu-open-letter-to-literary-magazines/ I find it compelling. I’m curious as to whether you would let something like the format that the poem appears on the website help determine whether or not you submit a piece of work there.
I’ve pulled two poems from the final editing stages of a mag in the past. One was because of this issue exactly. They kept changing the way they would format the issue, and when it started to mangle the appearance of the poem, I pulled it. The other issue was an intrusive poetry editor, but that is a much longer story. Always tough to give up an acceptance, but it’s not worth it if they kill the poetry or the fun.
